Nobodies No More!

Advent Meditation for Dec 19, 2013
Read Psalm 103:1-5, John 1:10-12, and II Corinthians 5:19

God has always been in alliance with the poor.  God has always had the mission proclaimed in Isaiah 61 and Luke 4.  But we just didn’t get it.  Jesus had to come as a nobody, live as a wanderer, die as an outcast, — yet live and reign triumphantly — for us to even begin to understand:  Now is the acceptable time; no one needs to be a nobody any more! God gives us “power to become the children of God!”

“God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself … and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.”

Meditation: Focus your meditation today on God — the wondrous love and mercy of God, God’s alliance with us, God’s joy in us, and the favor that God bestows on us!
